Gangs of Rome 2019

This is the 1st of many events at Holmfirth gaming centre where we allow players to try out a new system.

Ever wondered what Gangs of Rome is like? Avid player but are short of a player base? We are offering players a chance to play throughout the day in 3 fun-filled games.

Cost of the event is £15 & this goes towards entrance & prizes etc.

Doors open from 10am at Holmfirth Gaming Centre & we hope to kick off the games at 10.30am.

Players will need to bring relevant dice, counters & figures to play. 120 coins for fighters & Denarii are required.

Boards & Mobs will be supplied by the organiser’s.

Rules are as standard with the following additions:-

No Personal Influence Markers (PIM’S) can be used.

Fighter origin & background bonus can be used.

Patron Gods can be prayed to during games 1 & 2.

Food & drinks can be purchased at the centre.

Game 1 will be a Standard tribute to Mars.

Players get to choose 100 coins for fighters/Denarii from their starting force. Game will last 100 mins.

Game 2 will be a modified Escape game.

Players who won game 1 (player A) get 100 coins for fighters/Denarii from their starting force.

Players who lost (player B) will use the full 120 coins/Denarii. Game will last 100 mins.

Aim of the game player A has to escape the attentions of Player B. They were too successful so player B wants revenge.

Player A starts within 6 gradius of 1 board edge while player B sets up alternate fighters anywhere on their half of the board.

All player A has to do is get more of their fighters off the opposite side of the board than are killed by player B.

Player B wins if they kill more of player A’s fighters than escape.

Player A starts to deploy fighters 1st & players take it in turns to deploy their fighters.

Game 3 will be a large free for all.

Last woman/man standing is the winner. Only one player can emerge victorious.

Players will pick their best 3 fighters from their 120 coins however they will use the full Denarii cards for this game.

They create a pool of cards – fighters can hold 1 Denarii each & can swap at end of each round after all players have gone.

This is a free for all, no alliances winner takes all.

Game will last maximum 160 mins unless a clear winner declares themselves earlier.
