Entry costs and payment

Entry is £8 per coach, and all coaches need to be NAF registered as this is a NAF ranked event.
Please send payments by paypal to holmfirthgamingcentre@gmail.com. Please let us know your name and NAF details for registration. Could you select the ‘gift’ or ‘paying a friend’ option so we don’t lose out on fees please?
We have a limit of 24 spaces in this tournament so places will be offered on a first come first served basis. Due to previous issues, we will not be offering refunds, however will do everything we can to help you sell your ticket on to another coach should the need arise.

Rules

The tournament will be using current NAF approved rule set. Please check the NAF website for the current rules. The Illegal Procedure will not be enforced. There is a time limit for games, so coaches are encouraged to play 4 minute turns to ensure games are completed. On previous occasions we have had we have had to have a certain amount of flexibility to accommodate the serving of food but we will update you with that on the day and give notice of revised timings/upcoming ends of rounds.

Any games that reach the time limit will have to be halted and the result at this point will be the final result of that game. We do have a chess clock available should one be required for fair time allocation.

Each player on your roster must be represented by an appropriate painted miniature. You do not need to have miniatures for coaching staff but of course may do so if you wish.

We will be using the standard “Resurrection” rules; coaches will play each match with the same starting roster and do not need to record SPPs or any ongoing injuries. Undead and Necro teams may “raise the dead” and are able to gain a free zombie player (subject to the normal rules for that ability) for the remaining duration of the current match only. No team may keep players gained through “raise the dead” or “Nurgle’s rot” between rounds.

Rosters

Rosters are purchased with a treasury of 1,100,000 gold crowns. Inducements may not be purchased as part of your tournament roster other than these three exceptions:
i) All teams may hire 0-2 Star Players
ii) Goblins may hire 0-3 Bribes
iii) Halflings may hire a Master Chef.
If you include Star Player(s) in your roster you must first have at least 11 normal rostered players before including the Star(s). If two coaches are drawn against each other in the tournament with the same Star Player on their roster, then both coaches are permitted to use the Star (contrary to the normal rule).
Note, during the pre-match sequence extra gold crowns for inducements are not awarded to teams who may have a lower team value, such as they are in league play.

Each team will be offered a skills package to enhance their players; this will be done on a tier system.

TIER 1:

Amazons, Bretonnians, Chaos Dwarves, Dark Elves, Dwarves, Lizardmen, Norse, Orcs, Skaven, Undead, Wood Elves

TIER 2:

Chaos Pact, Elf Union, High Elves, Humans, Khemri, Necromantic

TIER 3:

Chaos, Khorne, Nurgle, Slann, Underworld, Vampires

TIER Stunty:

Goblin, Halfling, Lizardmen (No Saurus), Ogres, Underworld (No Skaven)

The skills packages will be as follows:

TIER 1 =5 normal skills
TIER 2 = 5 normal skills and 1 double skill
TIER 3 = 5 normal skills and 2 double skills
TIER Stunty = 6 normal skills, and 2 double skills

All the additional skills are added to your roster at the start of the tournament. Players may receive a maximum of one skill. Note that skills allowed for each Tier are exactly as ‘New Skill’ rolls specified either ‘Normal’ or ‘Double’ as per the CRP Improvement Rolls table. There are no restrictions on skill duplication i.e. you may give several different players the same skill if you wish. Star Players may not be given additional skills.

Games and Scoring

The first round will be drawn randomly, with all further rounds using the Swiss system. The overall winner will be the coach with the most points at the end of the day – there will be no final.

Points are scored as follows:
50 points for a win.
20 points for a draw.
0 points for a loss.

+1 Bonus point per touchdown (max 3 bonus points)
+1 Bonus point per casualty (max 3 bonus points)

Ties (for both Swiss and final winner) will be resolved as follows:

Ties to be determined on the following (in order) Head to Head, Strength of Schedule, Combined TD and Casualty difference

Casualty score in this case is casualties from BLOCKING ONLY (including “defensive” ones where the blocking player ends up injured and gives the intended victim a casualty point).

Subject to sufficient sign ups we aim to give awards in the following categories
• Overall Winner
• Most CAS
• Most TDs
• Stunty Cup (highest placing stunty team)
